  * Ending in a //consonant// add **ul**
    * Băiat -> Băiat**ul** (boy)
    * Student -> Student**ul** (student)
  * Ending in an //e// add **le**
    * Frate -> Frate**le** (brother)

===== Femenin =====

  * Ending in //ă// change to **a**
    * Fat**ă** -> Fat**a** (girl)
  * Ending in //e// and the e is preceded by a consonant, add an **a**
    * Carte -> Carte**a** (book)
    * Dragoste -> Dragoste**a** (love)
  * Ending in //e// and the e is preceded by a vowel, change the **e** to an **a**
    * Femei**e** -> Femei**a** (woman)
    * Lămâi**e** -> Lămâi**a** (lemon)
  * For some words ending in //ea// or //a// the definite article **a** is replaced by the vowel **u**
    * Cafea -> Cafea**ua** (coffe)

Like the masculine in the singular

    * Telefon -> Telefon**ul** (telephone)
    * Obiect -> Obiect**ul** (object)
  * Ending in an //e// add **le**
    * Spate -> Spate**le** (back)

===== Definite Article in the Plural =====

  * For masculin add: **i**
    * Câini -> Câini**i**
  * For feminine add: **le**
    * Femei -> Femei**le**
